The gorgeous Eagle Nebula is one of the most iconic object in the cosmos , known affectionately as thePillars of Creation . One of the most famous images ever taken by the Hubble Space Telescope depicts the Pillars , and now Hubble has returned to ikon the nebula once again to celebrate its35th anniversary .
The full image , shown below , describe a outstanding body structure of dust and gas which forms one small-scale section of the Eagle Nebula . At 9.5 light - age grandiloquent , it is enormous , and is formed of cold hydrogen gas with new star being hold amongst the clouds of the nebula .

It is the formation of these untested genius which make the sculpted appearance of the nebula . When stars are young , they are hot and bright , give off gravid sum of radiation and send out particles in an impression called stellar flatus . These starring winds cut up elaborate shapes into the cloud of junk and flatulence nearby , creating the nonnatural shapes . Some gas becomes ionize by the radiation sickness from these stars , causing it to glow bright . But where the dust is thickly clumped , it becomes unintelligible , make the non-white social structure seen in the image .
The different coloring material in the epitome represent different elements that are present in the nebula . The blue shades in the background come from ionized O , while the red color at the bottom of the picture are from hydrogen . However , the dark social structure seen here wo n’t last forever , as radiation therapy from brilliant young wizard will eventually gnaw at the column aside .
