There ’s a lot to love about these Modern phones . They ’re powered by Qualcomm ’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 micro chip that ’s blaze fast and a top performer , especially when combined with at least 8 GB or 12 GB RAM . The S24 Ultra break a step further with a young 50MP telephoto photographic camera for 5x optical zoom . And all of the S24 serial publication come pack with brand new Galaxy AI features — include Live Translate , Chat Assist , Transcript Assist , and more .

But there is one thing that bothers me about the Galaxy S24 , specifically the lowly example S24 and S24 Plus : they ’re bigger than their predecessor .
The Galaxy S23 was the perfect size
I reviewed theSamsung Galaxy S23last year , and though I ’m not a fan of Samsung ’s inclination to produce to a fault vibrant photos , I enjoyed the phone overall . It was dissolute , the bombardment living was great , and the exposure were respectable if you did n’t mind the eye - popping color the camera produces most of the time .
But one of my favorite features of the S23 was the size . It was perfectly lowly , compact , and portable . It was incredibly lightweight , too , thanks to the atomic number 13 frame . When you put everything together , that meant a phone that was very comfortable to admit and habituate . And despite using aniPhone 14 Proat the time , which is also 6.1 inches like the Galaxy S23 , the S23 just had a good in - paw feel .
As someone with smaller hands , I prefer more compact phone , and the S23 equip that bill nicely . It was manageable with one handwriting , well fit into my bags or pocket ( women ’s article of clothing tend to miss swelled pocket , unfortunately ) , and never sense too backbreaking .
While you could get a impudent phone like theMotorola Razr Plusor even theSamsung Z Flip 5for the ultimate compact form factor , the problem with insolent headphone is that they usually lack cracking cameras . At least with the S23 , you still have a 50MP camera in a lowly package .
Not everyone wants big phones
As I bring up , the Galaxy S23 was 6.1 inches , and the S23 Plus was 6.6 column inch . However , the newly announce Galaxy S24 has a 6.2 - inch screen , and the S24 Plus is 6.7 inches . The S24 Ultra has stayed the same size of it at 6.8 inch as its precursor .
If you wait at the list production dimensions , it also appears that the S24 is slimly taller and narrow ( 147 by 70.6 by 7.6 mm ) than the S23 ( 146.3 by 70.9 by 7.6 mm ) , and the same apply to the S24/23 Plus as well .
I do n’t yet have the Galaxy S24 in mitt , so maybe the slight difference in size is trifling . But I ’m also not a devotee of the physical size of gadget just creeping up each class , either .
