Ready for a surprise ? TheSamsung Galaxy Z Fold 6ispocket - friendly . Before now , it was only just about suitable to hold around in your pocket all 24-hour interval , provide you did n’t heed it being a bit bulky and heavy .

Now , it ’s more agreeable than myApple iPhone 15 Pro Maxin a suit , and that should tell apart you everything you take to recognise about the engineering advances Samsung has made with the belated big - screen foldable .

I’m pleased to see the Z Fold 6

I have had the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 for barely 48 hours . It arrived during a busy prison term when I ’ve been in and out of the house , and all I ’ve wanted is for a phone that ’s convenient to drop away into my pouch as I head out the doorway . I was n’t expecting the Z Fold 6 to fit the flier , as very few big foldables ever do . Yet the headphone has now reached the point where it ’s less obtrusive than the iPhone 15 Pro Max , and you may see for yourself in the photos .

It ’s not an delusion , and it ’s not like I have giant air pocket either , as it ’s played out when you compare the numbers . Like many people , my iPhone 15 Pro Max is inside a case — aCasetify Impact Case with MagSafe charging — so this has to be taken into account statement , but I ’m not using a case on the Z Fold 6 . While this is a crucial difference , I’veneverused a case on a Samsung folding earpiece , including the original Galaxy Fold , and it has been okay , plus I ’m only using a casing on my iPhone because I like the design . Idon’t think it needs it for protection .

The Z Fold 6 weighs 239 grams and is 12.1 mm thick folded up , and 68.1 millimetre all-inclusive . The iPhone 15 Pro Max is 221 grams , 8.2 mm thick , and 76.7 mm blanket without its cause , but at heart , it is much bigger . It then weigh 273 Hans C. J. Gram , is 13 mm thick , and 82 mm wide .

This is how I carry it each day , and the Z Fold 6 takes up less space and sense a draw less inapt . There is a train of thought that a heavy - screen foldaway is big and bothersome to own , and the Z Flip series is the one you want if size and gadget are a consideration . I do n’t cerebrate that ’s lawful anymore .

What about the whatabouts?

Reading this may come a surprise to some , but also cause anger among others . “ Ahh , ” the smug will say , “ but what about the Honor Magic V3 ? ” Yes , the currently China - only Honor Magic V3 is slimmer turn up up at 9.3 mm and lighter at 230 Gram , but it ’s wide of the mark at 74 mm , making this aspect come closer to the iPhone 15 Pro Max than the Z Fold 6 . Many will direct to this being a dependable thing , as it ’s more like a “ normal”-sized earphone than the Samsung foldable .

So far , I ’ve been using the Z Fold 6 closed most of the time , aside from when I learn TV , and it ’s the most ergonomic and manageable version yet . TheGalaxy Z Fold 5was already much serious than former Fold phones due to little accommodation by Samsung to the facet proportion and bezel size of it , but the further alterations for the Z Fold 6 make it even well again .

I have had no job typing , using apps , or generally interacting with the cover screen at all . The sound ’s modest 12 millimetre thickness makes it easy to grip and harbour , while the small camera faculty does n’t add much supererogatory to the size of it at all .

I ’ve also been trying out theVivo X Fold 3 Profolding speech sound , which is 236 grams , 72 millimetre wide of the mark , and 11 millimetre thick , putting it in - between the Honor and Samsung phone ’s dimensions , and it ’s more of a botheration to use one - handed than the Z Fold 6 .

I ’m not saying the young Samsung phone is the best close down speech sound ever and everyone else is wrong , but I am saying you should n’t just admit that thin and wider rival well , as in world it ’s just different , and one may suit you more than the other . Try them all out before buy if you may .

It’s shaping up to be one to buy

My first two day with the Z Fold 6 have been all about fall upon the ergonomic advances so far , and part of that is because there is n’t really much else to discover that ’s dramatically new about the speech sound . The software , camera , and processor are all update , but only marginally so it does n’t really feel like I ’m usinga hugely different phone to the Galaxy Z Fold 5 . That still makes it a brilliant sound , just not a hugely changed one spectacles knowing , particularly if you already own the last model .

I ca n’t call the improved design revolutionary either , as they are such small variety to what we saw last year , and it ’s not like the phone itself has some type of big pattern change . However , when you see back over Samsung ’s range of big - concealment folding smartphones as a whole , the little modification start to really add up .

The Z Fold 6 is without a doubt Samsung ’s most usable version yet , and as the durability has been improved alongside the ironware changes , I find well-heeled using it without a pillow slip . That ’s not something I could say about the original Galaxy Fold .

While last year theGalaxy izzard Flip 5’shardware hadmore attentionthan its big - screen sibling , this year it ’s the turn of the Galaxy Z Fold 6 to see the most radical changes to the ironware , and it ’s very welcome indeed . Even after an 60 minutes with the sound forward of launch , I wrote that if the ascent heap where I livewere more favorablethen I ’d be waiting for my own personal modelling to arrive .

Although I ’m only part way through my final review , this initial picture has not changed one flake . It ’s another excellent Fold phone from Samsung .
