It starts with the hardware . The OnePlus 12R looks and feel undischarged — far more premium than the cost ticket suggest . The metal frame is stalwart , the Methedrine back face and feels great , and there ’s an IP64 military rank for debris and body of water resistance . The presentation is also excellent . It ’s a 6.78 - inch AMOLED panel with a 2780 x 1264 declaration and a 120Hz refresh pace . It ’s undimmed , colorful , buttery smooth , and remindful of a screen you ’d find on a $ 1,000 smartphone .
The interior specs are just as good . Thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip — the same chipset in some of 2023 ’s best flagship phones — the OnePlus 12R is unbelievably fast and powerful . It also lasts incessantly . The 5,500mAh battery can easily last two days per charge , even with fairly enceinte use . And with 80 - W pumped up charging , you could take the battery from drained to 100 % in a slight over 30 minute of arc . The iPhone 15 Pro Max care it could do that .
So , what ’s the catch ? understandably , there ’s a snap , right ? Not really ! The ultrawide and macro camera on the back of the headphone are n’t very honorable , but the 50 - megapixel primary camera is astonishingly substantial . You do n’t get wireless charging , but when you have 80W wired charge , it ’s a very bonnie trade - off . And … that ’s about it .
At its usual $ 500 start cost , the OnePlus 12R is easily one of 2024 ’s skilful smartphone values . But at $ 400 ? Stop what you ’re doing and corrupt one right now . If not for you , buy it for a ally or family member . You ’ll be hard - press to find a better smartphone mint this year , so do n’t rent this one slip past you .
