Shokz — the earphone / earbud company that specializes in options that do n’t in reality go into or even over your ears — today has send packing a twosome new product that add feature and functionality in one case , and go easier on your wallet in another .

The bigger of the two update , arguably , is the OpenSwim Pro . ( We ’ve got a fullOpenSwim Pro reviewyou should crack out . )   They build on the original OpenSwim headphone , which apply bone conduction to transmit sound into your headland ( just like the original landlubbingAfterShokz Aeropex ) . The full-grown difference — and the matter that make the new version “ Pro ” — is that they lend a major feature that was missing the first time around : Bluetooth . That was a pretty limit component , mean that you could only listen to an audio Indian file ( medicine or otherwise ) that you sideloaded to the OpenSwim via a computer .

And that ’s still how you ’ll get music or podcasts or whatever onto the OpenSwim Pro for when you ’re in the water supply . But once you ’re out of the pool and done with your laps , you could toggle the OpenSwim Pro back to Bluetooth mode , which then set aside you to listen to your preferent streaming medicine or podcast app . The OpenSwim Pro will be you $ 180 .

Also young are the OpenFit Air . ( Be trusted to check out our fullOpenFit Air review.)These are open - ear phone ( or earbuds , if you prefer ) in that they still utilize aviation to move sound around , but they ride just above the entry to your ear . Like other products that include “ Air ” in their name , these are a little smaller and a little lighter , and a little less expensive at $ 120 a distich . ( That ’s $ 60 off the retail price of theoriginal OpenFit . ) They also have been redesign just a touch , with a two - tone finishing that I ’d argue really see better . They also retain the same kind of USB - coke case for charge .

So what ’s different ? Mostly the verbaliser . The OpenFit Air do n’t sound quite as good as their older siblings . But if you do n’t have both to put against each other , it ’s in all likelihood you ’d put them on and still be enough impressed , specially if you believe that folks tend to corrupt these sorts of headphones when they involve to be able to still hear the world around them and are n’t quite as concerned with perfect audio reproduction .

Both the OpenSwim Pro and OpenFit Air are useable now .
